2011 Sports Zone Alumni Kevin McAvoy

McAvoy ('14) named one of Red Sox top 20 prospects by NEBJ

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Former Bryant University baseball pitcher Kevin McAvoy ('14) has been named one of the Boston Red Sox top 20 prospects in the January edition of the New England Baseball Journal.

A three-year member of the Bulldog pitching staff, McAvoy completed his first full professional season in 2015. Pitching for the Single-A team in Salem, he went 11-9 with 3.89 ERA and allowed just 136 hits 141 innings. McAvoy won each of his last six decisions and allowed three runs or less in 10 of his last 11 outings.

McAvoy won 21 games in his career at Bryant before the Red Sox drafted him in the fourth round of the 2014 MLB Amateur Draft. The highest drafted player in program history, McAvoy lost just five games in his career and struck out program single-season record 94 batters as a junior in 2014.

Sports Zone Memberships are now available for those players that would like to take full advantage of year-round access and use of the best indoor baseball facility in Central New York.
Form your own team or play on a house team in the all new On-field League played at our new 30,000 square foot facility in Camillus, NY.  Teams consist of 5-8 players with a ton of action and plenty of at bats.
 
Sports Zone’s Travel Teams include age groups from 10 & under through 18 & under. Our travel program includes the 12th National Ranked Sports Zone Chiefs ranked by Perfect Game CrossChecker.com.




Sports Zone  classes focus on fundamentals and valuable skills of baseball at every player level while learning from professional instructors that provide a fun and safe teaching atmosphere
 
Sports Zone has baseball cage rentals, indoor baseball field rentals, or pick any of the three facilities to rent out.  Great team rental options or great for tryouts of all ages.  We have pitching machines and portable mounds available.
 
 Rental Prices
Sports Zone now plays host to multiple tournaments throughout the year that brings competitive teams from all over the northeast area.  Highlighted by the Sports Zone Invitational Tournament and Showcase held in late July.


 
Sports Zone Camps are available during the school and summer breaks for all ages and skill levels. Camps are limited in size so register quickly for one or more of our available camps
 
Private or small group lessons are available for those players that need that personal one-on-one instruction with one of our professional instructors to enhance their abilities and skills on the field.  Contact one of our staff today to schedule your private lesson.
 
The Sports Zone Facilities keep getting bigger and better every year.  We now have 3 locations, 16 batting tunnels/cages, a 30,000 square foot facility for indoor baseball games, pitching machines, portable mounds and the Probatter Simulator.
